Body Training

Studies show that those who engage in regular exercise and mindfulness reap huge health benefits,
including the ability to remain strong and fit for years to come. This session will focus on ways to
improve overall health through physical activity. Comfortable clothing recommended.

Outsmart the Scammers

Incidents of fraud are on the rise and scammers’ tactics are becoming more complex. This presentation
will help give you the information you need to Outsmart the Scammers. During the program, we’ll
discuss how to spot certain red flags that may indicate a fraudulent encounter, resources individuals
can turn to in the event they or a loved one are targeted, and steps attendees can take now to help
protect themselves and loved ones. Presented by Brian McQuade, Edward Jones and the River Falls
Police Department.

Brian McQuade
Brian McQuade from Edward Jones will be speaking on Thursday, October 18th about avoiding Financial Fraud & Scams.Brian began his career as an Edward Jones financial advisor in 2012 to help individual investors achieve what is most important to them. Whether it’s putting children through college, making sure enough is saved for retirement, estate planning, or other financial matters, he can help prioritize your needs and define your goals. He works closely with you and your CPA, attorney and other professionals to determine the most appropriate financial strategy.

Brian is active in the St Croix Valley area, serving as an Ambassador for the Ellsworth Chamber of Commerce, the Board of Directors for the River Falls Sunshine Fund and the River Falls Rotary Club where he served as Club President in 2016.




Beth Senoraske
Beth Senoraske will be presenting on Thursday, October 11 for Body Training. Beth has been practicing physical therapy since 1999, when she graduated with her Masters in Physical Therapy degree from The College of St. Catherine. She did her undergraduate work at the University of Wisconsin- River Falls. Beth started practicing in the Saint Paul Public School System working with children with disabilities, then joined River Valley Sports and Physical Therapy in 2003.  She has been working at this local clinic since.  Beth enjoys working with all age groups and recently took some educational classes focusing on exercise and the aging adult.  She is a strong advocate for exercise and how it can change a person’s life, whether through decreasing pain, improving mobility, improving function, and/or improving physical and mental health.  Beth teaches a strength trainingclass in her free time, and also enjoys running, hiking and spending time with her family and friends.  She lives in River Falls with her husband Brian, daughter Jordyand




Heather Schuman
Heather will be presenting on October 4th for Body Training. She took her first yoga class in 2005 and instantly fell in love with the practice, both on the mat and as a way of life. She received her 200 hour RYT certification from the Yoga Center of Minneapolis in 2012 and has been teaching ever since. She has additional training in Thai Bodywork, Kids’ Yoga, and Partner Yoga and is always working to expand her practice and knowledge base.
Heather has a passion for yoga, fitness, and general mind/body wellness and feels honored to be able to share each of these things with her students. She strives to make yoga accessible to everyone while keeping students challenged in their personal practices. She works at In Balance in River Falls.



Nancy Abrahamson
Nancy is the Dementia Care Specialist for the ADRC of St Croix County. She has 30+ years of experience as a social worker in healthcare settings, the County, and with private non-profit healthcare organizations like the Alzheimer’s Association. Her experience in hospital discharge planning, home care, and 3 skilled nursing facilities including managing the first memory care unit in Minnesota in 1988, has provided valuable experience learning from those with health issues, caregivers, and others.. She also created and facilitated a support group here in River Falls from 1992 to 2014. Health issues and dementia have touched her life as well.
While dementia has been her calling, she wants to educate everyone how to maintain their own health and age well. This presentation will focus on the role of social supports and relationships. Her relationship with the Wisconsin Alzheimer’s Institute at UW-Madison has provided information about the impact of social relationships and support to individuals as they focus on health maintenance.
Her passion for educating people so they can better understand strategies to maintain health and thrive is in sync with current research about it. Maintain your social networks and continue pursuing your interests and relationships.



Tom Overland
I am the Community Policing Specialist for the River Falls Police Department. I have four years’ experience as a patrol officer. My wife and I have been residents of River Falls for the past 10 years. I attended college at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, and obtained a Bachelor’s Degree of Science majoring in Criminal Justice.
